Ho mantenuto le promesse (I kept my promises)

Eh sì, le promesse vanno mantenute, anche quelle che ci sembrano piccole o poco importanti. Ora finalmente ci sono riuscita e mi sento meglio! 

Ma fatemi spiegare cos'è successo... lo scorso anno sul mio blog Le scarpe di Camilla ho avviato due iniziative: la prima si chiamava Un dono a sorpresa, che ho trovato sul blog della talentuosa e creativa Fanila, L'ago turchino (che vi raccomando di andare a visitare e seguire perché ricco di belle cose, fatte bene e con un tocco di eleganza e simpatia che le danno quel qualcosa in più). 

Tra il resto, è stata proprio lei a darmi indirettamente l'idea delle collane a tricotin, poiché tempo fa ne ho ricevuta da lei in dono una, bellissima, che indosso sempre! 

Visto che sono stata costretta a mettere da parte per un po' il ricamo, ho voluto provarci anche io e quelle che vedete nelle foto sono le mie primissime creazioni. Vi piacciono?

Ma torniamo a noi: il funzionamento di Un dono a sorpresa prevedeva di inviare appunto un regalino fatto a mano alle prime partecipanti entro il 2014... ma io non ce l'ho fatta. Non sto a raccontarvi il perché ed il per come, ma mi ci è voluto un anno per mantenere l'impegno, tanto che Jacquie, la destinataria del mio dono (l'unica a partecipare all'iniziativa, sigh) se n'era perfino dimenticata! 

Però l'effetto sorpresa c'è stato, e quindi anche se con un anno di ritardo, ho centrato l'obiettivo. Potete vedere la sua reazione sul suo blog e devo dire che mi ha fatto proprio piacere.

Il secondo appuntamento che quasi stavo per mancare era con Ingrid, che ha risposto esattamente ad un piccolo indovinello, sempre su Le scarpe di Camilla, e che quindi si era guadagnata un piccolo premio in cambio. Anche per lei, con un anno di ritardo, finalmente la promessa è stata mantenuta, e anche lei ha gradito il piccolo dono.

Quindi, come dicevo nel primo post di questo mio nuovo blog, sto iniziando a recuperare il tempo perduto e ciò mi rende felice... alla prossima!

But let me explain what happened... last year on my blog Le scarpe di Camilla, I have launched two initiatives: the first was called Surprise gift, which I found on the blog of talented and creative Fanila, L'Ago turchino (which I recommend you to visit and follow because it is full of beautiful things, well done and with a touch of elegance and sympathy that give that little "extra").

Among the rest, she gave me indirectly the idea of these ​​necklaces, because some time ago I received from her a beautiful necklace that I always wear!

Since I was forced to put aside embroidery for a while, I wanted to try this technique and what you see in the pictures are my earliest creations. Do you like them?

But back to us: the Surprise gift was made to send a handmade gift within 2014 to the first participants... but I didn't. I'm not going to tell you why and how, but it took me a year to maintain my promises, so that Jacquie, the recipient of my gift (the only one to participate in the initiative, sigh) had even forgotten it!

But in that way it has been a real surprise was, and so even though a year late, I hit the target. You can see her reaction on her blog and I must say that I was really pleased.

The second event that I almost was going to miss was with Ingrid, who answered correctly to a small riddle, always on Le scarpe di Camilla, and thus had earned a small prize in return. Even for her, with a year's delay, finally the promise was kept, and she also said she liked the small gift.

So, as I told you in the first post of this new blog, I'm starting to catch up, and that makes me happy ... see you soon!

Per le prime serate fredde (for the first cold nights)

Non so da voi, ma quassù al mattino e alla sera le temperature ormai si sono abbassate di parecchi gradi, mentre durante il giorno, se la giornata è soleggiata, si può addirittura togliere la giacca... queste temperature ballerine finiscono sempre per mettermi in crisi e non so più come vestirmi!

E allora mi serve qualcosa per proteggermi dal freddo, ma che sia di dimensioni ridotte, per poterlo riporre in borsa quando il sole ha riscaldato l'aria. Sciarpe e scialli occupano troppo spazio, e anche se la mia borsa può gareggiare con quella di Mary Poppins, serviva un'alternativa meno ingombrante.

Questo scaldacollo lavorato ai ferri è l'ideale da usare in questo periodo: caldo e morbido ma abbastanza piccolo e pratico da mettere e togliere comodamente quando serve. Non ricordo esattamente dove ho visto il modello a cui mi sono ispirata, probabilmente da qualche foto vista sul web che si è nascosta in un angolino della mia mente per saltar fuori al momento giusti...

Mentre lo lavoravo mi sono resa conto che il punto riso ai bordi mantiene bene la forma ed evita che lo scaldacollo si afflosci, mentre la treccia irlandese al centro gli conferisce morbidezza ed evita l'effetto gorgiera. 

Come chiusura, un grosso bottone di legno in colore contrastante permette di indossarlo senza doverlo infilare dalla testa, evitando la noia di spettinarsi. 

Che ne dite, vi piace questo mio primo esperimento?

I don't know about you, but up here in the morning and evening temperatures now are lowered by several degrees, while during the day, if it is sunny, you can even take off your jacket... these changing temperatures always end to get me in crisis and I do not know how to get dressed!

So I need something to protect me from the cold, but something small, in order to be able to put it in my bag when the sun has warmed the air. Scarves and shawls are too large, and even though my bag can compete with that of Mary Poppins, I needed something less cumbersome.

This knitted neck warmer is ideal to use at this time of the year: warm and soft but fairly small and easy to put on and remove when needed. I do not remember exactly where I saw the model to which I was inspired, probably somewhere on the web, maybe a photograph that has been hidden in a corner of my mind, ready to jump out at the right time ...

While I was working, I realized that the stitch on the the edges helps keeping the shape and prevents it from drooping, while the Irish braid in the center makes it soft and prevents the ruff effect.

As closure, a large wooden button in contrasting color allows to wear it without having to put it from the head, avoiding to mess up your hair.
